This pertains to an argument that takes about 30 seconds of the episodes but is apparently the crux of its moral, so if you don't like spoilers, don't read.
After a couple of high-stakes world- and character-building episodes with big reveals, it's nice to go back to something reminiscent of season 1 for a change. :)
I gotta say, some of the ponies in these episodes need to be a little more straight forward without being mean about it, but sometimes you can be too direct, you know? Let me go into detail.
So we're firmly in the character interaction, it seems. Unfortunately, that means not a whole lot of lore comes out of this that I can see. Have a special one then! New characters and old characters are brought into the spotlight, at least, and that's fun.
This week, we look at a very accurate rendition of what would happen if you asked me to judge a fashion competition. Let’s face it, asking a big name in fashion to design you an outfit is a bit like asking a big-name architect to build you a house; it’ll look unbelievable—hopefully in a good way—but it won’t even pretend to be practical.
Of course, one can go too far in the other direction…

Hmmm, and indeed I haven't barfed as much, I really applaud Applejack's attitude, she's acting exactly like... ME.
The way she
-Doesn't lie -Points out the flaws in people who don't listen -And isn't really being a bully because shes not saying hurtful things (I only say hurtful things to other people cuz they said horrid things to me first)

I don't normally feel this strongly about an episode but this episode really rubbed me the wrong way. Don't get me wrong this had a good moral, especially for the modern generation; knowing the difference between being blunt and being honest. Silverquill has often said that Applejack is at her best when she is being supportive and I agree with his statement. Through out the episode Applejack wasn't really herself, she just became so heartless and hurtful. I think the episode would have worked
Rarity: "…Let me guess, one of today's episodes prominently features you?" Rainbow Dash: "Heh, actually, they both do! But don't worry, you get in on the action in one of them too." Rarity: "Oh! Another episode pairing us up? That can only lead to unexpected things. Do tell, Rainbow Dash."
